The Innocence Project London investigates claims of innocence from convicted individuals who have exhausted the criminal appeals process and need support to make an application to the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC).
Our story
Last year, we raised over £4,500 from our community of alumni and friends – these funds were crucial for the IPL. With your support, we were able to commission an expert CCTV report for a client, bringing us closer to submitting their application to the Criminal Cases Review Commission. Without this funding, we would not have been able to make this progress.
The donations also enabled two prison visits, allowing four students to meet with their clients in England. These meetings gave the students the opportunity to gain real work experience and to ask critical questions and ensure that the clients remain involved in the work we’re doing on their behalf.
Additionally, your contributions helped fund six new episodes of the Innocence Project London podcast, which has now been downloaded over 2,200 times by listeners around the world – and helps us to continue to raise awareness and receive support for the work we do
This year, the theme is the pursuit of justice: the impact of innocence work – and that impact is profound. Every day, we work on behalf of individuals convicted of crimes they did not commit, people who have exhausted the criminal appeals process and have nowhere else to turn to for help.

- £100 will help buy a train ticket so we can visit one client in prison
- £300 will help the IPL send letters and documents to applicants and clients for 6 months
- £1000 will help fund a casework manager for 6 hours a week to support the administration of the IPL
- £1500 will help instruct an expert to enhance CCTV
- £2000 will help instruct and expert to review medical evidence
