Duncan Lloyd
Senior Lecturer in Primary Education
Duncan Lloyd is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Education in the School of Education at the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ. He is the Professional Development & School Experience 3 Lead as well as the Curriculum Area Lead for Primary Science.
Before joining the University in 2014, Duncan was an Associate Lecturer in Primary Education at Plymouth Institute of Education, University of Plymouth, where he tutored on modules related to professional studies and practice, mathematics education, and technology enhanced learning.
Duncan joined higher education following a successful career as a primary school teacher and middle leader. His responsibilities included leadership of primary science, physical education and sport, and gifted and talented education.

Research / Scholarly interests
Duncan is currently interested in the issues and ideas related to needs and concerns of students of teaching, their image, identify and beliefs, and the pedagogy of teacher education.
Previously, Duncan has researched children's scaffolding and guided participation behaviours in informal contexts, and his practice as a middle leader and manager, as part of his MA.
