Dr Viktoria Jakcsiova BSc, MSc, MPhil/PhD

Lecturer in Psychology

Viktoria joined the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ in September 2024 as a full-time Psychology lecturer. She obtained her PhD in Psychology from the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ in March 2024 and worked with the National Institute of Teaching for six months as a freelance qualitative research assistant. During her PhD, Viktoria led in-person seminars in two modules, Introduction to Applied Psychology (Level 4) and Research Methods (qualitative methods, Level 5). Her previous qualifications include MSc in Organisational Psychology from City, University of London, obtained in 2018 and BSc in Psychology with Management from Goldsmiths, University of London, obtained in 2016.

Research / Scholarly interests

During her PhD, Viktoria explored whether the methodological and methodical limitations of standardised rating scales perpetuate rather than impede the manifestation of gender biases in student evaluations of university lecturers.

More broadly, Viktoria’s research interests encompass social, educational and organisational psychology. Her scholarly interests include a) assessment and evaluation, particularly in relation to student evaluations of teaching; b) gender biases and stereotypes; c) the use of AI in the field of education, d) perfectionism in the workplace.
