Everyone in my year was friendly and we always offered support to each other, even if you only knew them to say hello. I made some really good friends at Greenwich and they will be friends for life.
Memories of Greenwich
I had taken a year out after finishing my access course and I was very anxious about going to university as a mature student. I felt like a fish out of water. However, when I arrived at Greenwich for the open day, it was a really relaxed atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly.
Greenwich was academically challenging, engaging and the course leaders, lecturers and tutors were so supportive. Someone always had the time to sit with me and explain something.
While at university I was diagnosed with a learning disability. I had extra support in exams and was provided with equipment which meant I could study more effectively. The lecturers really do know their stuff and as my degree progressed, I started to see how passionate they all are about their subject of expertise. The learning environment is so rich.
The lecturers' enthusiasm really enhanced discussions and captured my interest. I thoroughly enjoyed my course, even the statistics!
Life after Greenwich
I left university and within three months I was in my first Assistant Psychologist role. I am now an Assistant Clinical Psychologist working with Essex Partnership NHS Trust, and I am still learning. I think I always will be.
I cannot thank the university enough. I feel so lucky to have had such wonderful academics who were so passionate about their field.
