Greenwich helped me grow into the person I am today. I am very proud to have achieved my degree and make my family proud.
Memories of Greenwich
I really enjoyed my time at the University. I used to work for Admissions and Education liaison and had an amazing time with colleagues. I really used to enjoy the social side of university and these are memories that will always stay with me. Memories of finding friends and that fact that even though some are in different countries, we all try to keep in touch via Facebook etc. I have one friend that I sat with on my first day at Greenwich and we are still best friends 14 years later.
It was the University that gave the confidence to lose weight thanks to all the facilities that were available on campus. It was a time when I changed physically and mentally for the better and in turn gave me the life that I have now. Something I always take from that experience is that anything is possible if we are willing to work towards it. I went from 160 kgs to 80 kgs in just under 2 years and this has helped me a lot in life.
Life after Greenwich
My course gave me an excellent understanding of the world of tourism and not just the pretty side of things. It gave me an idea of what industry and field I wanted a career in.
After graduating I managed a restaurant in Canary Wharf for one year then went into banking with Halifax for 2 years, got married, and decided to go into real estate for couple of years. Since 2016 I’ve been working for a car rental company where I’ve discovered my talent for cars and customer service. The University gave me the confidence to do public speaking and not to be afraid of rejections whether in the workplace or in life.
