The staff were so dedicated to seeing everyone succeed and stretch themselves; it was challenging at the time, but I graduated with a feeling that I could tackle anything thrown my way.
Memories of Greenwich
This picture was taken the morning after I had handed in my dissertation! After months of hard work in the library this picture symbolises exactly how it felt to complete my degree, the sense of achievement, relief and pride is indescribable!
I had chosen to study computer science on a bit of a whim; IT at school was something I excelled in and I was interested in taking these skills one step further. My first term at Greenwich I felt so out of my depth but I was determined to push through and master it. I choose Greenwich because out of all the unis I visited I felt the course content had the most breadth and I was impressed by their passion to see more women break into the industry.
I had such a wonderful time at Greenwich, What stands out most for me is all the people I worked with and the friends I made. The bonds you make at university are different from any other time of life - it was just so much fun!! I actually miss the all-nighters (there's a weird sense of adrenaline you get from sitting in the library all night with your friends and lots of caffeine).
Life after Greenwich
Since leaving Greenwich I have spent the whole time working in a few roles at Arm. I definitely think an adaptability and basic understanding of wide range of computing principles, developed during my time at Greenwich, have been fundamental to my progress at Arm.
For those soon to graduate, keep going! Towards the end it all seems so overwhelming, but you've got this far, you can finish!
