Study here

Our courses are designed with employability in mind. We combine the development of intellectual curiosity with vocational skills, work experience and global citizenship you need to advance your career.

We include outside speakers for relevant expertise and have close links with employers and professional bodies for networking and placement opportunities.

Over half of our courses are professionally accredited, giving students a degree and a professional qualification.

Skills for employment

90% of our graduates are working or undertaking further study within six months of completing their course (2018 DLHE survey).

Courses at Greenwich have employability skills at the core, including embedded opportunities to develop the attributes you need for graduate jobs.

Over half of our students undertake a work placement to gain the vital skills and experience that are valued by employers. Many of our courses can be taken with a 'sandwich' year, which is a dedicated placement in industry.

Once you enrol, you use the Greenwich Employability Passport to extend and accredit your developing skills. Our courses also embody our Graduate Attributes, so you emerge as a creative and ambitious individual who strives for excellence and is determined to succeed.

The result is that Greenwich graduates have an excellent employment record. 70% of our employed graduates achieve graduate-level roles within six months of completing the course.

Learning at Greenwich

Our teaching and learning facilities make full use of our physical and digital infrastructure.

We offer superb study and social spaces on campus. You'll find library facilities on all campuses, including our award-winning library at Stockwell Street in Greenwich, and the Drill Hall Library, which holds 150,000 volumes.

With our lecture capture technology, you can revisit lectures as often as you like, which is particularly helpful when you are preparing for assessments. Our innovative learner analytics system allows you and your personal tutor to identify any additional support you may need throughout your journey.

There is a wide range of extra-curricular activities to support your learning. Each subject area has a student-led academic society that contributes to our vibrant academic community.

Taught by passionate people

We employ well-qualified teaching staff. Over 70% of our staff have a formal teaching qualification. Many of our academics have also previously worked in business or industry. This enables us to provide up-to-date and industry-relevant courses.

Our lecturers are as passionate about sharing knowledge as they are about their subjects. They are ideally placed to help you reach your potential. Our students often remark that our academics go the extra mile to help them excel at their chosen subject.

We have a thriving research community that addresses challenging issues such as preventing mosquito-transmitted diseases and fire evacuations in difficult environments. Research contributes to our lively academic community, and there are lots of opportunities for students to get involved in research.

Having lecturers who are willing you to do your best makes all the difference.

Support at every step

Our students truly appreciate the level of support we offer at every stage of the student journey.

You'll have a personal tutor to help with your academic needs, from essay-writing support to study skills. Our student ambassadors will help you settle in and get the most out of your time here. You can even apply to become one yourself – it's a great thing to put on your CV.

Then there's our employability team, which offers advice and tools to help you build the skills and experience that employers are looking for.

The university has dedicated teams to help students with disabilities and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. We offer bursaries for students who have been in local authority care (care leavers) and have Student Wellbeing Coordinators on each campus to help students with disabilities adjust to university life.

There's a Student Centre on each campus, so it's easy to drop in for advice.
