Quantity Surveying, BSc Hons (Degree Apprenticeship)
Our quantity surveying degree apprenticeship offers you the ideal combination of practice-based and academic learning to become a chartered quantity surveyor.
This degree apprenticeship will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence you need to excel in this role. Your learning will include:
- Cost and project management
- Contract management and law
- Commercial awareness
- Ethics in the construction and property industries.
You will gain practical skills relating to construction technology and sustainability, health and safety, and measurement. There is also a final-year project, which is designed to build your skills in research data collection, problem-solving and analysis.
This is a Level 6 degree apprenticeship and is . It is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Upon successful completion of the end-point assessment, you will become a chartered quantity surveyor.

Entry requirements
Typical offer
- 112 UCAS Tariff points. We accept A Levels, T Levels, BTECs, Access to HE and all other qualifications with UCAS Tariff points.
- In addition, you will need: GCSE Mathematics at grade 4/C and GCSE English Language/Literature at grade 4/C. Equivalent qualifications may be considered.
- Transferable skills and readiness to study at undergraduate level.
We make Contextual offers to this programme. Applicants that meet specific eligibility criteria will be made a contextual offer with a reduced tariff of up to 16 UCAS Tariff points. How you will learn
Teaching
Learning takes place through a combination of timetabled learning and independent study.
You can view more information about how each module is taught within our 'What you will study' section.
Seminars and workshops enable you to discuss and develop your understanding of topics covered in lectures in smaller groups. You will also be able to meet your personal tutor. Timetabled learning may fall between 9am and 9pm depending on your courses and tutorials.
Class sizes
Lectures are usually attended by larger groups and seminars/tutorials by smaller groups. This can vary more widely for modules that are shared between degrees.
Independent learning
Outside of timetabled sessions, you are also expected to dedicate time to study. This may involve further reading and research, preparing coursework and presentations, and getting ready for tests and exams. Our facilities are designed to support you in these activities.
You can use Stockwell Street Library and online resources to support further reading and research.
In addition to the training plan agreed with your employer, it is possible you may also:
- Attend guest lectures from industry experts
- Take part in employability and enterprise workshops
- Join .
Overall workload
You will discuss your workload with your employer before you begin your training plan. This will include protected ‘off-the-job’ training hours. These will form part of your normal working week, and you will be paid your normal working rate for them. Find out more.

Each course has formal assessments which count towards your grade. Some courses may also include 'practice' assignments, which help you monitor progress and do not count towards your final grade.

We aim to give feedback on assignments within 15 working days.

Fees and funding
The course fees are shared between government and employers. Visit our degree apprenticeships pages to find out how the cost of your course is met.
Other costs
Employers with a payroll of more than £3 million can use their apprenticeship levy contributions to pay for places on apprenticeship programmes.
Any business with a payroll below £3 million is eligible for government funding that will cover at least 95% of the cost of an apprenticeship programme.
Additional incentives are also available to employers who take on young apprentices.
